We created a monster. And it’s dreadfully delicious.

Hellbent bottles

Hellbent was never supposed to exist. It started, like all great ideas, as a bad one.

Two writers pitched a Robot Chicken sketch: a commercial spoof for a werewolf-themed “harder” seltzer with 80% ABV. The sketch didn’t make the cut…but the idea wouldn’t die. Something about the mischief, the full-moon madness of it all stuck

Seth Green (Emmy-winning actor, writer, director, and co-founder of Stoopid Buddy Stoodios) and Matt Senreich (Emmy-winning writer and longtime Robot Chicken co-creator) thought they might be onto something—just not a sketch. A bloody good product. A lifestyle brand that didn’t play by the rules. To bring it to life, they called in PJ Loughran, a creative entrepreneur with deep roots in the beverage and entertainment industries. With PJ and his team leading market research and brand development, the trio got to work building Hellbent, from the grave up.

They noticed that the world of canned cocktails was a bit dainty, conservative, and trying a little too hard to be fancy. Pretentious attitudes, boring flavors…. a seriousness that said “sip responsibly” instead of “let’s get weird.” Our founders wanted to make drinking fun again, not by putting out another delicate spritz in a pastel can, but by creating a high-octane cocktail brand that captured the authentic abandon of the party. One that wouldn’t just cut through the noise—it would slaughter it.
